The Mission

ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at Google? In Google Backstage, you and your friends take on the role of Google. Help users get from A to B, find answers to their questions and make recommendations for the best videos. Learn how Google uses your data. 

The Concept

Every year, Google Europe creates a themed marketing activation. In 2018 the topic was Privacy. Google asked us the question how might we inform users in a fun and engaging way about the controversial topic of Data and Privacy. We designed a 30-minute ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ experience in which users themselves take on the role of ‘Google’ to get acquainted with the back-end technologies of Google’s most popular products: Google Maps, YouTube and Google Search.

For this project I was the Project Designer, with 5 direct reports and a total team of 24 people.
